Hip Replacement

A surgical procedure in which the hip joint is replaced by a prosthetic implant, that is, a hip prosthesis.

Using anterior hip surgery, Dr. Hope can approach the hip joint from the front. This allows him to replace the hip without detaching the pelvic or femoral muscles. Because the gluteal muscles are not disturbed during surgery, recovery time is shortened and pain is minimized.

It can be performed as a total replacement or a hemi replacement.
